About Zed

Zed is a code editor written from scratch in Rust designed to leverage multiple CPU cores and the GPU. It supports macOS, Linux, and Windows, featuring built-in multiplayer collaboration tools such as chat, screen sharing, and simultaneous editing. Zed integrates AI capabilities including agentic editing, parallel agent execution across projects, and edit prediction powered by Zeta2. Additional native features include Language Server Protocol support, a DAP-based debugger, Git integration, remote development, multibuffers, Vim and Helix modal editing, Dev Containers, and an ecosystem of community extensions.
