What is Grist?
Grist is a relational spreadsheet and database platform available as a cloud-hosted service or self-hosted open-source software. It combines spreadsheet-style grid layouts with relational database structure, linking records across tables, custom dashboards, cards, and charts. Users can write formulas using Excel-compatible functions and standard Python syntax. Grist provides row- and cell-level access control rules, custom drag-and-drop views, built-in forms and surveys, an AI assistant for querying data, and integration capabilities via REST APIs and webhooks.
