Neon
Build application backends with serverless Postgres, authentication, object storage, functions, branching, and an AI gateway.
About Neon
Neon is a backend platform built around Lakebase Postgres. It combines a serverless Postgres database with managed authentication, S3-compatible object storage, serverless functions, and an AI gateway. Its database architecture separates storage and compute, supports automatic scaling, scale-to-zero, database branching, isolated environments, instant restore, and vector, keyword, and hybrid search. Developers and coding agents can manage environments through MCP, CLI, and SDK access.
What you can do
Neon monitors database load ten times a second to automatically autoscale CPU and memory resources to match application workload.
Neon retains a history of database changes to restore branches to previous points in time and execute Time Travel queries.
Neon databases automatically suspend compute when idle with no compute cost and resume on the next query.
Neon supports storing vector embeddings and performing vector similarity search in Postgres using the pgvector extension.
